South West Paddock Care are proud to offer grassland and estate maintenance for land owners/tenants with 0.25 + acres, we offer a range of services based in East Devon.

Owned by Jonty Corbin, he has the knowledge and experience of all aspects of grassland and paddock maintenance, with our compact tractor we prided ourselves on being able to tackle the most awkward of landscapes with minimal disturbance to the ground.

Topping

Topping paddocks (mowing or cutting) is the best way of preventing weeds from going to seed. It is an essential part of paddock maintenance and removes any dead, stalk or unpalatable grasses and allows fresh grass to spread. Our compact tractor and 6ft topper can access small areas or places with awkward access.

Harrowing & Rolling

Harrowing is traditionally carried out in spring and autumn and also should be scheduled into your yearly maintenance. This will rake the ground allowing healthier spring growth, together with rolling this will level out any unevenness caused by poaching and help to spread the grass crowns therefore maximising the spring growth.

Stone Burying

Stone burying is designed to prepare the soil for reseeding. It works the soil, also burying the stones, clods and crop residues, even in uncultivated land. Leaving a fine and level cultivated surface ready for seeding or turfing.

Seeding

Re-seeding and Over-seeding Starting from scratch and sowing a new grass or over-seeding where we can introduce suitable grass to your existing sward, more productive grasses for hay and haylage or traditional pasture mixtures that are required. We can advise on the best grass seed mix to suit your specific needs. For best results, this procedure should be carried out in spring and autumn.

Spraying/Weed Control

This is a vital programme for productive and healthy grass, Spraying with safe and modern pesticides is the best and most effective way to control weeds. Individual weed specific sprays are used to target precisely what you need to have removed.
